ASSEMBLYMAN WHO MAY REPRESENT A PORTION OF ST.LAWRENCE COUNTY SAYS PROPOSED DISTRICT SIZE PRESENTS LOGISTICAL, FISCAL PROBLEMS—Marc Butler of Herkimer, who currently represents the 117th District but represent a newly-reformulated 118th covering Fulton, Hamilton, and Brasher, Hopkinton, and Stockholm in St.Lawrence County if a proposed redistricting plan were to be implemented, says he already has two offices—one in Johnstown in Fulton County and in Herkimer, and would probably have to open another in the North County—something likely not fiscally-prudent because being a member of the Republican Assembly Minority would not make the cash needed for that available. Butler has strong ties to St.Lawrence County; he is a 1976 SUNY Potsdam graduate, and a member of a SUNYAC champion basketball team coached by Jerry Welsh while he was in college. His brother, David is a SUNY Canton English-Humanities instructor.
