POTSDAM PTSO ORGANZING STRONGER PRESENCE IN LOBBYING STATE—The Potsdam Central School Parent-Student Organization is networking to get more people involved in an upcoming second bus trip to Albany to lobby legislators for an aid formula that treats urban and rural schools equally, and for the release of competitive aid money to poor schools that need it. PTSO Vice President Rachel Wallace says the there will be a day where Potsdam Central will not have the reserves or the tax base to avoid being devastated, like Canton would be if the current aid picture holds. Potsdam is facing a 1.4 million-dollar deficit next year with flat aid coupled with rising expenses; Canton 2.5 million.
