VERIZON WIRELESS TO EXPAND POTSDAM COVERAGE WITH MORE ANTENNAS--The Potsdam Village Planning Board voted this week to approve a Special Use Permit for Verizon Wireless to add nine antennas to the six it already has on the Verizon Landline tower at 73 Market Street. Verizon Landline and Verizon Wireless are not the same company; Verizon Wireless leases space on the tower. Plans are to do the work this summer. Planners agreed the expansion is in the spirit of code encouraging co-location. Any change to an existing tower in the Village requires a Special Use Permit.
