POTSDAM TOWN SUPERVISOR SAYS NO RE-VOTE ON CHASON “PILOT” ANYTIME SOON--Marie Regan told 99 News yesterday she did not like the tone the Chason Affinity Companies set, as a representative asked the Council Tuesday to re-consider a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes deal for the large cottage housing project in Outer Main Street. The Council voted against the deal earlier this year. Another representative from Chason said Tuesday at the Potsdam School Board meeting it will build regardless of whether or not there is a PILOT, and if there is no PILOT, the company will sue under Article 78 to get a lower assessment than the 5.5 million-dollar figure it agreed to in the deal. Regan says that was also expressed at the Council meeting (held at the same time as the school board meeting), and that's not good-faith bargaining.
