POTSDAM TOWN COUNCIL TO SUPPORT SPEED ZONE IN ACCIDENT-PRONE AREA—The Council agreed to assist residents in the neighborhood of the State Route 56-72 intersection with establishing a reduced speed from the intersection up to about the West Parishville Road, in reaponse to a petition and request Tuesday by area resident Kris VanWagner. VanWagner told the Council there are numerous young families that have moved to the neighborhood recently, and there have been numerous near-accidents and one serious accident on that stretch of road in recent months. Highway Superintendent John Keleher says “Children Playing” signs have been out-moded in favor of rediced speeds.
