20 NEW TREES FOR IVES PARK FROM DONOR—Planning and Development Director Fred Hanss told Village Trustees last week an anonymous giver stipulated the trees be planted in the park; they are expected to be planted in early November. The trees will be tall, to bring back some of the “crown” lost in July's massive thunderstorm. ALSO FROM HANSS—The Raquette River Blueway Corridor was recently named a “priority project” by the North Country Regional Economic Development Council, in the hopes of bringing the river-focused tourism promotion initiative state funding in the latest round this fall.
