COUNTY LIBRARY FUNDING CUTS MORE DAMAGING THAN OTHERS, DIRECTORS SAY—Ogdensburg Public Library Director Wayne Miller told St. Lawrence County Legislators recently a loss of county funding to a “central library”--that has the responsibility at the state level to provide more reference materials than others in the region—is more damaging because it must maintain a certain funding level, and the loss of state funds if it fails to do so results in a more than 2-to-1 cut from the state. County Legislators cut all funding to libraries in the 2013 budget.
