    FROM THE 99 NEWS ARCHIVES: SOUNDS OF DAVID O.'B. MARTIN—The former Congressman from Canton passed away Tuesday at the age of 68. We found in our library yesterday a portion of Martin's address at the commissioning ceremony for the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in May of 1987, and a portion of an interview from later that year about the effort at the time to bring a super-conductor/super-collider to the region.

    CANTON ATM THIEF CAUGHT—21-year-old Brandon Crandall of Main Street in Canton was arrested Wednesday evening on felony counts of criminal mischief and grand larceny for his alleged role, with an accomplice in the heist of an automatic teller machine from the vestibule of the St. Lawrence University Brewer Bookstore. Chief Victor Rycroft a collaborative effort with the help of State Police, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, and the county Drug Task Force helped to corner Crandall. SLU Security went through many hours of video surveillance materials. Crandall was arraigned late Wednesday before Pierrepont Town Justice Robert Camp and released to probation supervision until future court dates. Warrants for the arrest of the accomplice were in the process of being obtained last night
