  • 99 NEWS FOR MONDAY, 11/26/12...PAVEMENT CONDITIONS ARE SLICK ON SIDE ROADS BECAUSE OF THIS MORNING'S SNOW COVER; THERE WAS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT SENT WHAT WAS REPORTED TO BE THREE CHILDREN TO CANTON-POTSDAM HOSPITAL DURING THE 7:00 HOUR ON THE POTSDAM-MORLEY ROAD. SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES ARE INVESTIGATING

    CHARGES PENDING FROM ALLEN'S FALLS ROAD, PARISHVILLE PICK-UP CRASH—State Police in Canton told us 23-year-old Daniel Rouselle of Potsdam received burns and many other injuries when the pick-up he was operating rolled into a ditch and caught fire about 4:30 Saturday morning. Troopers reported a blood sample was taken; charges are pending the results of tests.

    COUNTY LEGISLATOR SAYS A “ONE HOUSE BILL” HAS NO CHANCE—Joseph Lightfoot of Ogdensburg, speaking last month at a meeting of town supervisors, mayors, legislators and other officials said legislation co-sponsored by State Senator Joe Griffo, that would allow a referendum of St. Lawrence County voters to see if they would allow the county to raise the sales tax rate by one percent, is more or less “dead in the water” because it is an advisory referendum, which is not constitutional, and that it has no support as yet in the Assembly.

    DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ALLEGATIONS SEND GOUVERNEUR MAN TO JAIL—23-year-old Justin Aldridge was charged with 8 counts, including felony criminal contempt Saturday. He was also charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and several other counts. Aldridge was arraigned and committed to the county on 5-thousand-dollars cash bail or 10-thousand-dollars bail bond.

    MADRID MAN FIRES PISTOL, CHARGED—38-year-old Gregory Price allegedly discharged a gunshot during a dispute at a Madrid residence Saturday. He was charged with felony reckless endangerment and released to probation supervision.

    David O'.B. Martin—68. Former Canton resident, Former US Congressman. Calling for family and friends to be held locally December 3rd from Noon-8pm at O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton. Burial to be in Arlington National Cemetery.
