NO BAIL FOR NORFOLK BURGLARY SUSPECT—29-year-old Jason Morgan was arrested by State Police Thursday on felony counts alleging he entered the same residence on two occasions earlier this year; stole a safe, guns, and other items. Morgan was arraigned and committed until future court dates.
COUNTY LEGISLATOR SAYS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN “TEABAGGED” HAD HE STAYED REPUBLICAN—Don Peck of Gouverneur, who decided to change his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat, told 99 News in an interview Friday he suspects he would have been primaried by his own party in a re-election bid two years from now, had he stayed registered with the GOP. Peck told us he “has never been a party line player, is not now, and never will be.” He believes he would get the Tea Party treatment the same way fellow moderate DeDe Scozzafava did when she ran for Congress. Peck voted for a Democrat to be chair the first year he was on the county legislature, and has often voted with the Democratic majority on other items. He says his constituents come first, not his party and he plans on it staying that way.
