80 PERCENT OF NORWOOD LAKE WOULD BE COVERED, AND LAKESHORE PROPERTY VALUES WOULD GO DOWN 15 PERCENT IF EURASIAN MILFOIL IS NOT STOPPED, CLARKSON RESEARCHERS SAY—A team of students led by Professor Michael Twiss gave an audience in Norwood Thursday the results of a study on the proliferation of the invasive species, discovered by a St. Lawrence University researcher this summer. One student told 99 News an idea that has merit to control the spread is to draw down the man-made impoundment over the winter; however Brookfield Power only allows a drop of half a foot. Mayor Jim Mc. Faddin says steps will be taken immediately to determine a course of action.
